Military Pilots

Exams & Revision

Revision Weeks

Revision weeks are a mandatory part of BGS approved courses. Each module includes one 5-day revision week (Monday to Friday, approximately 08:25-16:45 UK time). Students can attend online or in-person at Clevedon headquarters (Module 3 currently online only).

Examination Centre

Bristol Groundschool's Clevedon facility is an official UK CAA and Austro Control examination centre. Students can sit exams on-site, usually the week after completing their revision course, in a supportive environment.

Exam Timeline

You have 18 months from your first exam sitting to pass all 13 ATPL exams. Results are valid for 36 months from your last exam pass for CPL and IR issue. Once an IR or type rating is entered on your licence, passes are frozen for 7 years for ATPL issue.

Minimum Training Hours

ATPL(A) requires minimum 650 learning hours, with 10% (65 hours) consisting of live tuition fulfilled by attending revision weeks. CPL(A) requires minimum 250 learning hours with 10% (25 hours) live tuition. Pre-recorded video sessions do not count toward live tuition requirements.
